Mr. Porath was born in Israel. He moved to the United States to study economics and art. He has traveled extensively, refining the techniques of the masters of impressionism and portraiture. Antonios Karafyllakis, whose artworks have been regarded as masterpieces, personally mentored the artist. He helped focus Mr. Porath’s attention on creating artwork that ranges from profound interpretation of religion to the carefree innocence of youth. With this influence, Zvi Porath’s art has emphasized the important issues that people confront as they mature and contemplate the cycle of life: love, strength, faith, beauty, innocence and knowledge.
