Kathy Watson

Artist Bio:

Kathy Watson is a native of New Jersey. She began her journey into photography through her Uncle Henry, a family photographer’s inspiration. Kathy and her husband Stew moved to the Jersey Shore where they raised three sons. Kathy continued her love of photography while photographing her children. Her early photography can be found in her sons’ high school yearbooks. Kathy’s photography expanded into black and while film at a local college. She now works exclusively in the digital media participating in Visions Photographic Workshop classes in NJ and recently with Kate Sylvia and Kenny McKeithan here in Charleston.

Kathy’s fine art prints have been on display in the Talent Showcase at The First Presbyterian Church, Rumson, and at  The Canterbury Arts Show at St. George’s By The Sea in Rumson as well as St. Elisabeth’s Chapel in Ortley Beach, NJ. Kathy received an Honorable Mention at the Power of Color Juried Photography Exhibit at Belmar Arts. She received an Honorable Mention at The Canterbury Art Show and Sale 2015, Rumson. She received a Merit Award for her photo in Eleven Shades of Gray at Belmar Arts. Four of her prints were featured in Hanging In Heaven with Visions Photographic Workshops in Asbury Park in 2013 and five prints were featured in 2014. She was awarded Best in Photography at The Guild of Creative Arts in Shrewsbury, NJ. Recently, Kathy and Stew moved to Johns Island, SC where she is exploring the beauty of the Lowcountry’s landscape and wildlife.
