EXTRAORDINARY ARTS PROGRAM showcases the artwork of children with disabilities from the schools in the three counties encompassing Charleston.

Children with disabilities often are overlooked as potential artists, indeed in some cases don’t even have room for art education in their schedules. So this program is a result of the art teachers and special education teachers in our local schools, and we thank them for their efforts.

This year’s show took place in March and the children’s art work was on display in the Charleston County Library, 2nd Floor, Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC

The reception is Saturday March 25th, 2017 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The public is welcome to attend. If you plan on coming and would like to bring small finger foods to share, you may.

Awards will be given out about 12:30 p.m.

Charleston Artist Guild Members, Blaine Dixon and Muriel Lanciault, have led the efforts this year, with the help of the Charleston Public Library, Main Branch on Calhoun Street. In addition to the colorful ribbons that often accompany art shows, the students winning ribbons received a gift card and all students receive a “goody bag” of art supplies. All participating teachers also receive gift cards.

All of the expenses are supported by grants.
