The Art of Alzheimer’s program is coordinated by Marilyn Brown and serves the neediest of our senior population, those battling the debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s Disease. Marilyn leads a team of guild members on monthly visits to ten senior facilities in the three counties encompassing Charleston. Grants pay for supplies, guild members help seniors paint or draw, either pre-designed pictures or subjects of their own choosing. Mats are added to the finished paintings/drawings, and slip cases are sealed over the artwork and presented back to the senior artists. Most are delighted with their efforts. All appreciate our efforts. And the team members usually feel that they have benefited more than the senior artists! Thanks to Marilyn and her regulars for keeping the program going.
