Sherri Bardsley

Artist Bio:

“I have always loved animals, having had numerous pets since a young girl.  Most of my paintings feature wildlife or pets.  My love of art and my love of animals has allowed me the ability to combine the two into one.  Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to have the ability to paint someone’s pet for them, giving them a lasting memory.”

A Charleston native, Sherri Bardsley, has lived in the lowcountry all her life. Sherri has worked in watercolor, charcoal, and oils. Oils have become her medium of choice.  After retiring with over twenty years in law enforcement  from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, Sherri quickly returned to art and began studying with several local artists such as Gene Bekaert, Connie Olson, Charles Parnelle, and Kathleen Wiley to refresh and expand her skills.  What was a retirement hobby soon became a second career.  Sherri has found a way to express her love for animals and share it with others as she paints very detailed and realistic pet portraits.

Sherri exhibits her work locally and is active in three Art Guilds as well as painting with other artists in the Art of Alzheimer’s Program for elderly patients in nursing homes. Sherri has also been painting weekly for many years with a group of  ladies in Summeville known as “The Artsy Girls”.
