A show by Kenneth Hanger
On exhibit from April 1st – 30th, 2017
The Charleston Artist Guild announces Kenneth Hanger as the Featured Artist for the month of April. His exhibit, “Rock On”, is a collection of paintings that reflect the artist’s recent venture into watercolor and oils to reflect the rockier side of life.
Kenneth is a local artist that has painted many years in the low country and in the hills of North Carolina. He began many years ago as a watercolorist, then took on oils as well. A recent workshop brought him back into the water color world and so the show includes both. In the last several years the palette knife has formed the basis for many of his oil works which will be evident.
“I really like being able to go back and forth from the beautiful, soft, lucent shapes that watercolors bring about, to the precise and dramatic forms that oils and particulary the palette knife create. I think you’ll enjoy both. I also enjoy flower still life and both ventures offer a different view of nature. My interpretation can range from photorealism to impressionistic so get ready for the ride.”
Opening reception is free to the public:
