Debbie Palmer

Deborah Palmer, a native of New York, studied drawing and painting at Skidmore College where she earned her BFA in 1970.  She spent the next thirty years forging a career in commercial art as an art director in several New York advertising agencies and as a graphic designer in her own studio catering to the crafts industry.  During this period she saw many of her illustrations published.

In 1999, Deborah and her husband Jeff moved to Mt. Pleasant, where enchanted by the light, marshlands and charm of downtown Charleston, she returned to fine art full-time to pursue landscapes.  Deborah continues to study with national and regional artists to refine her skills.  She is an exhibiting member of the Charleston and Mt. Pleasant Artist Guilds and a member of the Artists’ Alliance of East Hampton where she paints with The Wednesday Group, plein air painters of the East End in the summers.  She has paintings in private and corporate collections across the country and in Canada and has won numerous awards.  More of her work can be viewed at www.deborahpalmerfineart.com.
