Artist Bio:
Ariane Kessler has lived in Charleston for over 20 years. Originally from Sydney, Australia, she has raised her children and grandchildren here in the low country, and waited till they were grown before starting her career as an artist. Ariane paints primarily in oils, and uses brushwork and palette knife to capture the contrasts of light and shadow that are distinctive of her painting style. She loves to paint beach scenes, marshes, cityscapes and figurative paintings, also dogs, birds, etc, and also does portraits on commission.

Ariane has exhibited in numerous shows, and has won a number of awards for her paintings, including first and second place in exhibitions at the annual Blessing of The Fleet event. She is a current member of the Charleston Artist Guild, the Mt Pleasant Guild, and the Artist Guild of Daniel Island. She continues to study painting with the acclaimed Charleston Artist, Laurie Meyer. “Her support and encouragement, have made painting an integral part of my life. I hope to continue to grow and learn as an artist”, says Ariane. Her paintings are in collections across the United States and Europe, and are also available at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery, 160 East Bay Street, Charleston SC.
